Happy Monday all! I'm excited to be participating in Giveaway Day hosted by Sew Mama Sew! A week long party full of blogger giveaways!
First up Pat Sloan's "Camera, Colors, Quilts!" book. This book has 6 patterns ranging from table runners to full sized quilts.

If you're a blogger you're probably already addicted to photography -- this book allows you to meld photography with quilting -- fun, fun!. Color pictures, great patterns -- you cant go wrong.
And to get a jump start making one of the patterns in the book I have three Fat Quarters to give away with the book! The top fabric is "Angelica" by Amy Butler in her Cameo Collection -- isn't it pretty ?
Additionally, there are two shades of "Nouveau Riche" by Hoffman Fabrics -- also very pretty and they go well with the Amy Butler fabric !
For a chance to win leave a comment on this post telling me what you like best about quilting. Is it the piecing, the applique, the quilting, or some other aspect?
For an extra chance to win become a follower and leave me a separate comment letting me know how you decided to follow.

ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance
I am a follower.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite parts are deciding on a pattern, doing the piecing, and sewing on the binding. :)
ReplyDeleteI go back and forth with my moods; I guess. lol. I love to hand quilt...but there are times when I have had enough and just head to the sewing room to piece. Choosing colors is my biggest challenge.
ReplyDeleteI like the math/geometry of it. Fun to see how many different combinations of primarily squares and triangles there can be, and how color can change them!
ReplyDeleteI love the creative outlet quilting provides.
ReplyDeleteI love the tradition of quilting. And it goes without saying I do love the sewing and quilting too. My least favorite part is cutting!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely prizes. Thank you for the chance to win. I love piecing most but I am starting to really get into top stitching or free motion quilting.
ReplyDeleteI adore handquilting. I find it so relaxing and beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win your lovely prize. I would certainly put it to good use.
ReplyDeleteI really like the planning and picking out the fabrics the best. I like all the other parts too except for the cutting.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is applique! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI don't quilt often, but love it when I do. It's also fabulous to watch how masterfully others turn this craft into a true art.

ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the giveaway and for offering such wonderful gifts! It's hard to decide what I like best about quilting because I love so much about it. It's great fun to play with fabrics and colors; to choose a pattern; to cut, sew, press seams. I love seeing a quilt come together, especially if it turns out great. My least favorite part of quilting is measuring and sewing on a binding.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your generous gifts.
I follow your blog on feedly. I enjoy reading it very much. I honestly can't remember which post attracted my attention to your blog but whichever it was, I'm glad I became a follower. I learn so much from your posts. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of quilting is "finishing" a project.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY love after the piecing when the rows start getting sewn together, and the quilt gets some weight. I love feeling that and seeing the progress.

ReplyDeleteChoosing fabrics and patterns that I think will best suit the recipient's personality is my favorite part. Right now, I'm making a quilt by request out of baby clothes for my sister in law. That Amy Butler fabric, might finally inspire me to make one for myself. It's gorgeous, but I always seem to sew for others & not myself. Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI love everything about quilting. Love seeing a quilt come together. putting it on my long arm and seeing designs come out of the fabric, the binding. Everything. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite is paper piecing, even though I haven't done a lot of it.
ReplyDeleteI like figuring out the fabrics best. It gives me a chance to oogle.
ReplyDeleteI love the peiceing and having something to give-away at the end. Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteI love all of it, but I do love getting the grid paper out and working out something, but in the fabric working I love to stipple.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is picking out the fabric. I've done that a couple of times, but I'm still a beginner and have yet to actually finish a quilt LOL

ReplyDeleteI haven't done much quilting yet, just a couple potholders, but I do plan to. The thing I like best about sewing in general though, is starting with something not too exciting like fabric and thread (well, that stuff is exciting to me, but you know what I mean) and coming up with a finished product like something you could purchase at the store, but personalized.
ReplyDeleteI just made my first quilted project last week and for me it is just the feel of it at the end of the project. The end result is just so soft and plush!
