Dear Karen,
ReplyDeletemy favourite thing about quilting is the quilting itself. But unfortunately it's not the thing I do most.
Would love to win and I have a friend in the USA. ;)
Greetings from Germany, Rike
My favorite thing about quilting is how relaxing it is! I find great pleasure in being in my sewing room creating beautiful quilts! Thank you for the opportunity :)
ReplyDeleteI love the piecing so far. I hope to get one of the "short" arm quilters in the future and maybe I'll enjoy quilting more because the quilting showcases the piecing. Trying to maneuver a queen size quilt in a regular machine is not that easy but doable.
ReplyDeleteI just love the whole creative process. it is personal. it took my time, effort, not excluding cost, my love for quilting, the humming sound of the machine , pieces of fabric and thread everywhere and than finally the outcome. A quilt made out of love for the art and for the person who will receive it.
ReplyDeleteWell I guess the finished product is my favorite part! Just kidding, I love the process. PIcking out those perfect fabrics, watching it all come together. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMary
Karen, all of your patterns are wonderful and your coloring book looks grand! I love everything about quilting except sandwiching the layers! XO
ReplyDeletewhat I love most about quilting is picking out the colors and patterns that I think my friends would love most and then seeing their expressions when I give it to them-
ReplyDeleteI really like piecing the best. I have several top languishing in my closet. I love your redbird. We don't have them here where I live.
ReplyDeleteanndunn24(at)gmail.com
Hiya Karen!!! I think piecing is my favorite part of quilting, but I enjoy the whole process. Picking out a pattern (of the hundreds that I have), thinking about different color schemes, the sewing, sewing, sewing, and then giving that finished quilt to that special person. Thanks for having the giveaway. Have a great weekend. Blessed be, hugs!!!

ReplyDeleteI love all aspects of quilting, from designing, piecing, quilting, to hand stitching the binding.

ReplyDeleteOMG this is the sweetest!!! I love every little bi about quilting but especially handquilting, as it is the most relaxing part!!!

ReplyDeleteTough question. After the design (when everything seems perfect-ha), I enjoy quilting the most. Cardinals are my favorite bird, so, I'd be thrilled to win the Red Bird and berries kit. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet quilt! My favorite thing about quilting is the piecing.
ReplyDeleteThe bird is delightful! My favorite part of quilting is the gifting when I have finished a project.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of making a quilt is the quilting. I love embroidery and machine applique too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is putting the blocks on the design wall to see what my version of a quilt will look like.

ReplyDeleteI have admired your Redbird mini quilt for a long time and would greatly enjoy making one! Clever you for putting together few extra kits! I enjoy the piecing stage most when making a quilt. I also enjoy the binding!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite parts of quilting are starting a new project and finishing a project! I love to give gifts and decorate my home with the things I make.
ReplyDeleteI like the piecing stage the most! Fun to watch how the quilt grows"!

I love piecing the blocks and picking out the fabrics the best. Haven't finished too many quilts, so I can't say that part is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSandy A
I love making the quilt, but I especially love the gifting.
ReplyDeleteI shared your Instagram post.
ReplyDeleteI think I like all of it but always the best part is the smile on the face of the receiver. I love watching cardinals right now so this would be wonderful. Jmikebalou (at) aol (dot) com
ReplyDeleteI really love to hand stitch wool, but I do love to applique, by machine or by hand!!
ReplyDeleteHere in the South, the red cardinals and female cardinals are so plentiful, I love to watch them feed this time of year.
There are so beautiful next to all the gray tree limbs that have shed the leaves.
Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving!
I just ordered some Aurifil thread using your affiliate link, thanks for letting us know about that wonderful sale! I love piecing, so that was the perfect gift to myself.
ReplyDeleteOops! I left this comment under the wrong post initially! I do love all aspects of the quilting process, but I think I love piecing the most! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about the quilting process from beginning to end with the exception of the quilting itself unless it is something simple. I especially love seeing the quilt top come together as it reaches completion. Thank you for this great giveaway. I live in the USA.
ReplyDeleteHave a super great sewing and stitching day.
Happy Holidays! I love your patterns! I enjoy working with my hands and really love hand piecing. It's also great when I can see with a friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win.

Hi Karen:) Hope you had a great holiday! I love the solitude and peace of mind most of all. I began quilting when my 28yr old son passed away almost 2 years ago as a way to keep my mind occupied. I make throw size and kennel quilts and donate them in his honor, that is most gratifying part for me. Your little cardinal was one of the first patterns that caught my eye when I began, still love it the best of all!!

DeleteMy favorite part would probably be choosing the materials and colors to use. Mostly I love to appliqué and embroider by hand. Your pattern is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI just love creating something. The best part is the binding , because it is almost done and time to start the next project.
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing various pieces of fabric "make" the project. Being able to get something finished to enjoy is probably the best!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy piecing and free motion quilting! Of course, finishing something is what I love best! I have admired your red bird project for a long time!
ReplyDeleteI love creating beautiful things! (And seeing the beautiful things others create!)
ReplyDeleteI love hand quilting.

ReplyDeleteAfter choosing my colors and doing the cutting and piecing the blocks the pattern/quilt seems to come alive when you start putting the blocks together. Sometimes the top says I am beautiful. Other times it might say something is not right. Fix me.
ReplyDeleteI love buying the fabric and putting fabrics together to make a quilt. That probably explains my accumulating stash. My second favorite part of the quilting process is the cutting. I dread the label. I am not sure why, but some quilts are left unlabeled. kthurn(at)bektel(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI shared your giveaway on facebook and tagged 4 fellow quilters.
ReplyDeletekthurn(at)bektel(dot)com
Hi Karen
ReplyDeleteIm too much a newbie to declare a favorite part.
But i enjoy fmq ...feathers !
Meeting new friends and making things with them
ReplyDeletePiecing and sewing with friends
ReplyDeleteCreating a design and picking fabric is my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, What I like about quilting is sharing my knowledge with new quilters. I been teaching quilting for over 25 yrs & actually have two current students that took classes from me over twenty years ago.
ReplyDeleteI shared this awesome giveaway on facebook !
ReplyDeleteMy favourite part of the process is hand stitching, whether it is English paper piecing or hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love wool handwork and embellishing with thread. That said, I LOVE your Cardinal and would dearly love to win the kit or anything !!
ReplyDeleteI love the whole process!!! Someday I hope to do a lap size wool applique quilt. It's on my bucket list. I too love cardinals. And yours are lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not the most confident of quilters so the best part for me is seeing a project 'finished'. Karen, I love your work and (even though I am outside the US) would love to win, or purchase, a kit for the 'really mini redbird' project.
ReplyDeleteI adore applique and gifting. Knowing that such a special piece is appreciated makes all the work worth it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part about quilting is the gifting. It's such a personalized gift.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about quilting is the beautiful things a person can create for their loved ones.
ReplyDeletegandn74@ymail.com
I love piecework. Quilting calms me and I really like everything about it.
ReplyDeletegandn74@ymail.com
I love the anticipation of the finished project. So the entire process makes it all fun.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting the best but love piecing too! thank you very much - such a cute pattern!
ReplyDeleteI love all parts of quilting, (except basting large quilts!), but my favorite is when you finish the last seam on a block and press the completed block open for the first time,it is like magic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this beautiful little kit,I love cardinals, and hope to see one in real life someday, as they don't have them here in Montana.
My email is: bestbelle2010@aol.com
Thanks!
My favorite thing of quilting is doing hand applique, sewing the binding on and hand quilting. Quess that's three things.
ReplyDeleteI love choosing the perfect fabrics, usually takes me awhile. It is so fun to imagine the finished project. Thank you for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to include my email. It is mtmom57@gmail.com
DeleteLove when my project is completed & doesn't end up in the UFO pile :) Handmade gifts are the best!
ReplyDeleteI love the piecing but am working on upping my applique and quilting skills!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeletegreetings from WV. My favorite part of the quilting process is sewing all the little pieces together and getting a gorgeous piece of art~ I am new to quilting but practicing as much as possible~
My favorite part is actually choosing the design & fabric!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity
Caltexgal@aol.com
I love the anticipation of starting a new project, followed closely by the gifting. I know you didn't ask, but the cutting is my least favorite part. Have never worked with wool, but what a great opportunity if I win!
ReplyDeleteI really love piecing - paper piecing most of all. Am trying to learn to love the quilting parr, but I'm still working on that....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about quilting is the release of creative energy, a build up of which leaves me cranky.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about quilting is piecing. I love to sew and have many tops ready to quilt. I just have to discipline myself to sit down and QUILT!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is handwork of any kind. Appliqué and embroidery I can take with me. One of these days I want to try hand piecing!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is piecing with my trusty Bernina; though I do like each & every facet including constructing the quilt sandwich lol.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, my favorite part is planning and cutting the pieces. As a result, I have way too many UFOs!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is playing with the fabric choices, 25 years ago it was the hardest part. Next is the piecing. Garvey56@gmail.com
