  1. Dear Karen,
my favourite thing about quilting is the quilting itself. But unfortunately it's not the thing I do most.
Would love to win and I have a friend in the USA. ;)
    Greetings from Germany, Rike

  2. My favorite thing about quilting is how relaxing it is! I find great pleasure in being in my sewing room creating beautiful quilts! Thank you for the opportunity :)

  3. I love the piecing so far. I hope to get one of the "short" arm quilters in the future and maybe I'll enjoy quilting more because the quilting showcases the piecing. Trying to maneuver a queen size quilt in a regular machine is not that easy but doable.

  4. I just love the whole creative process. it is personal. it took my time, effort, not excluding cost, my love for quilting, the humming sound of the machine , pieces of fabric and thread everywhere and than finally the outcome. A quilt made out of love for the art and for the person who will receive it.

  5. Well I guess the finished product is my favorite part! Just kidding, I love the process. PIcking out those perfect fabrics, watching it all come together. Thanks for the chance to win!

  7. what I love most about quilting is picking out the colors and patterns that I think my friends would love most and then seeing their expressions when I give it to them-

  8. I really like piecing the best. I have several top languishing in my closet. I love your redbird. We don't have them here where I live.

  9. Hiya Karen!!! I think piecing is my favorite part of quilting, but I enjoy the whole process. Picking out a pattern (of the hundreds that I have), thinking about different color schemes, the sewing, sewing, sewing, and then giving that finished quilt to that special person. Thanks for having the giveaway. Have a great weekend. Blessed be, hugs!!!

Here in the South, the red cardinals and female cardinals are so plentiful, I love to watch them feed this time of year.
There are so beautiful next to all the gray tree limbs that have shed the leaves.
Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving!

  44. Hi Karen:) Hope you had a great holiday! I love the solitude and peace of mind most of all. I began quilting when my 28yr old son passed away almost 2 years ago as a way to keep my mind occupied. I make throw size and kennel quilts and donate them in his honor, that is most gratifying part for me. Your little cardinal was one of the first patterns that caught my eye when I began, still love it the best of all!!

  52. After choosing my colors and doing the cutting and piecing the blocks the pattern/quilt seems to come alive when you start putting the blocks together. Sometimes the top says I am beautiful. Other times it might say something is not right. Fix me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love buying the fabric and putting fabrics together to make a quilt. That probably explains my accumulating stash. My second favorite part of the quilting process is the cutting. I dread the label. I am not sure why, but some quilts are left unlabeled. kthurn(at)bektel(dot)com
