Half Square Triangle Love and Giveaway!

Greetings fellow quilters!! 

Today on the Moda Bake Shop I'm sharing a little Half Square Triangle LOVE.

You see, I used the Electric Quilt 7 software (EQ7) when designing Chevron with a Twist for the Moda Bake Shop.  During the process I stumbled upon an EQ7 "feature" that rearranged the half square triangles in-place, rotating them without moving their original location.   WOW -- I was amazed at all the different layouts I could "click" through!!

Once I got the hang of it, I created a bundle of different HST quilt layouts with just a few EQ7 clicks:

I was really excited to see that changing the orientation of the half square triangles in their original positions on the quilt would yield such a variety of quilt designs.

Below are a few more designs to ponder -- remember - on each one of these designs the HST's are in the same position on the quilt but oriented in a different direction to make a new design.

    Karen, I, too, loved them all and would be hard pressed to choose just one. I sat with my morning coffee and watched all of your videos.     I'm still a huge fan of your original, especially with the fabrics I have chosen, That said, I'm saving the Pinwheel layout for a spring/pastel colorway.

    I like the pinwheel setting best, but the topdown setting is an extremely close second ... and there are others not far behind that. Wow, so many settings - who knew there were so many settings without moving a single piece. Thanks for the giveaway.

    I really love the Chevron design...never tried that before - the applique along with piecing is a perfect combination. Those Moda fabrics are beautiful! Love HST, Moda and Aurifil and your designs.....thank you for a great giveaway.

    I am very partial to Pinwheels, but I like the Top Down setting best with the applique. It sets it off with a better focal point.

    I still like the original Chevron design the best. Some of the other designs look too busy and take away from the applique (in my opinion).

    Personally I prefer the Focus layout with the Diagonal one coming second, but OH MAN, once I see how you quilted the Chevron With a Twist, that is to die for! Um, so I can't decide!

    I am a HST fan and trying to choose a favorite layout is tough...if pushed I would go with Focus but there are several that are contenders for favorite status. Thanks for sharing all those layouts.

    Oh I love the reverse layout, because of the possibilities of all the quilting which can be placed int the negative spaces to create another design within this quilt...they are fabulous thanks for sharing
