I'm using it for the top and bobbin. I don't hesitate to adjust my top thread tension wildly on my sample pieces or on the edge of the real piece before quilting the real deal. I have yet to need to adjust my bobbin holder but I've decided if I do that I will buy a separate one just for that purpose as to not mess up my piecing setup. I also find that if I slow down my quilting, especially on curves and swirls, that I'm more likely to avoid tension issues with my bobbin thread.

I love my Janome for FMQ and I still own a Bernina 230 I can use for piecing if I need to. Be sure to shop around for your Horizon... I got a great deal on leap day and got mine at 29% off at my LQS (patchworkangels.com).

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the kind words!
KarenKarens Quilts, Crows and Cardinalshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04839869002904564355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4677152823724787763.post-83348519467075895022013-08-26T22:55:18.604-04:002013-08-26T22:55:18.604-04:00That growth chart is TOOOOO cute!!!That growth chart is TOOOOO cute!!!Ivory Springhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06912738976411473827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4677152823724787763.post-59340815742755004242013-08-26T21:57:12.729-04:002013-08-26T21:57:12.729-04:00your quilting is wonderful and this chart is so cu...your quilting is wonderful and this chart is so cute!Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04778881951560644932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4677152823724787763.post-86568742375267150572013-08-25T00:07:23.470-04:002013-08-25T00:07:23.470-04:00Those are the cutest birds and the quilting is fan...Those are the cutest birds and the quilting is fantastic. No, I don't have a stitch regulator - mine is all done free motion. My biggest problem is tension - my machine seems to need a different tension for each different thread I use. It's a frustrating bit. I may just get a new machine to see if that solves the problem - I've been eyeing the Janome Horizon for two years now. Thanks for sharing and linking to Hexie Friday - love your eye candy.Angie in SoCalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01689281551068732574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4677152823724787763.post-43904271116826060192013-08-24T16:27:31.803-04:002013-08-24T16:27:31.803-04:00Awe thanks Billie...
