Yippee! Penny Garland Wool Applique Finished

Need a little more time to get "just the right" photos... in the meantime here is a sneak peak !!

I quilted on my Janome Horizon and used Hobbs Wool Batting.

You can see progress pictures of "Penny Garland" here and here.

More to come...

Sew happy it's finished.

    1. Hi Connie -- the background is cotton fabric which allows the piece to be a little lighter (weight) than a wool background. It also allows you to use a batting for quilting. I used a cotton backing fabric with a wool bat. I just love the way it turned out. Hope to post more details on it soon. Thanks for hosting the linky party and for your great projects that always inspire! Hugs, Karen

  7. Wow! It is lovely. I enjoyed a Diehl class this past year on machine appliqué. It was a good technique but I still prefer to do it by hand. I love the quilting you did on this piece.

    1. Hi Peg! Well I think that Kim's Penny Garland is much bigger than a traditional Penny Rug would be. Hope you had a chance to read through the progress posts! Please feel free to Email or message me if I can help answer any questions. Thanks for your kind words! Hugs, Karen
